Work stress and coping strategies in remote work. An approach to the theory.
Keywords:
work stress, remote work, coping strategiesAbstract
The research focused on the influence of work-related stress on remote work, as well as the use of coping strategies to deal with this phenomenon, from a theoretical approach. The objective of the research was to describe and analyze the conceptual definitions, causes of work-related stress in remote work, and coping strategies for this phenomenon. Materials and methods: A qualitative approach was used, based on a literature search on the terms telework and work stress in the international and Cuban contexts, as well as on the coping strategies employed, through documentary research in the main databases of high-impact journals such as Redalyc, Scielo, and Latindex. The most up-to-date and relevant published articles were selected. Results: Twenty-seven articles from different theoretical databases were analyzed with reference to the topic of work stress, remote work, and coping strategies for this issue. Conclusion: The theoretical review was developed based on different positions regarding the influence of work stress on remote work and the need for strategies to cope with this phenomenon. One of the contributions of the research was the dentification and categorization of coping strategies that have proven effective in the context of remote work, for example, time management, the creation of routines, the practice of digital disconnection, and the promotion of leisure activities.
